I like the sound of it. I've always liked Taylor and Sailor sounds very similar so I like it. I prefer the spelling Sayla, as to me Sailor is someone who works on a boat. And what N2L said - high teasing potential would knock it way down my list no matter how much I liked it.

Sorry, I've got songs in my head immediately: A Sailor Went To Sea and What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor? Lol

No, sorry....But I am not a fan of naming kids after professions generally anyway...Doc, Turner, Retail Sales Assistant... Not for me.

Seriously though, if you think it is "the" name, then go for it, but I don't think you will get a very favourable response from most.

    Sorry TTB

I bet the perfect name is just out there waiting for you.

I would agree with Limey though that it's not Retail Sales Assistant. Cashier is much classier

You better snap it up before Nicole Ritchie or another celeb does!

Another no, it reminds me of Sailor Moon.

I actually think the name is quite cute for a little girl but I'd be worried that she'd grow up and be in the policeforce and become Senior Sargent Sailor. Or spend her whole life saying "No, it's not Taylah, it's Sailor".

Good luck with your name search!

i dont know who or what Sailor moon is but my first thought was a boys name not girls.
i could see it growing on me though.
But anyway ive learnt if you like uncommon names, they are uncommon for a reason and people will not always like it (cause if they did it would be a top 10 name )
i did an online poll when pg with ds3 and got lots of comments on the name we picked (Ryker) but we still named him that, absolutley love it and it just suits him. ( we were told it reminded them of someone Riker in star trek and a prision in NY called Riker island both of which we had never heard of but didnt deter us)

I love it, personally! I think whilst cute for a little girl it's quite a strong name do works for an adult. Kids will pick on any name or any kid.
