    spelling of Rebekah, Rebecca....

We like the name Rebekah followed by Ruth but there are so many ways to spell it
    Rebekah
    Rebecca
    Rebbeca
    Rebbecca
    Rebekka

    our other children are
    Greg (Gregory)
    Tash (Natasha)
    Nick (Nicholas)
    Annabelle (Belle )
    Samuel (Samuel)
    Daniel (Daniel)

I am not sure if we will shorten it to Bekka or leave it at the full name.

    A boy is easy .. I think..
    Matthew Pieter
Although my FIL will probably argue it is Mathew Peter as in ONE T in Matthew and no silly spelling. My dutch uncle who I love is on his deathbed so I am naming a boy Pieter in honour of him.

Dutch spelling is nice, not silly. Its not like you are spelling it Peetre or something.

Based on your other kids names I'd go with Rebecca as the spelling

I am a Rebecca...my family always called me Becca. But as I got older it was Bec. I always believed that the H was more of the hebrew religious name and with Ruth another biblical name

my name is also Rebecca, in 1980 the year I was born it was one of the most popular names for girls, I never had a class at school with less than 3 of us with the same name!
Due to that I wanted to be different and played around with the spelling, starting with Rebekah, then moving on to Rebeker, I never saw another with that spelling! also used to get asked a lot if it was German or dutch??! I have now reverted back to the "classic" spelling of Rebecca, most people call me Beck or Becky.

oh and my Nanna's name is Ruth Rebecca.

I prefer it spelled like Rebecca

Your other children all have classic spelling of their names, so I based my preference on that.

Thank you so much for all your replies.
Tash was Natasha right up til the moment she was born lol. Then all her life she has been either Tash or Tasha.
I think we'll go with the traditional spelling of Rebecca.
My other choice of name was Matilda but I got that much flack from that name choice And also Charlotte.
But if it is a girl which I think it is then Rebecca Ruth

I like Rebekah, it's the biblical Hebrew way of spelling it.

Well my name is Rebecca and I like the way it's spelt.

It's a classic name, I prefer the classic spelling personally.

My SIL is also Rebekah but spells it different... Lol.

I shorten to Bex as a nickname, and my SIL gets Becca or Bek

    I prefer Rebekah.

As for Matthew, where I come from Matthew always had two t's anyhow - looks odd to me with only one!
