Strange names... nothing in the top 200!

Anyone noticed any interesting or unusual names lately? I'm desperate for some fresh ideas.

One name I love but would never use that comes up allllll the time on the names websites is Calliope. But seriously, I have this instant association with Manfred Mann... "the calliope crashed to the ground"

Is it just me?

So, ideas welcomed, good and bad, and strange names welcomed, even if you hate them.

Whenever I hear Calliope I think of Grey's Anatomy. And because of that I wouldnt be surprised if it moves up the name lists.

I'm the same with Calliope, I love it but not sure I'd use it. Might throw it out to DH to see what he thinks though!

Can't think of any unusual names. A few nice names not overly common that family or friends have used are

Does it have to be strange? Can it be traditional that just hasn't been used? I just had a look at the births, deaths and marriages site and my DD's name doesn't come up at all as being in the top 100 since 1929.
I remember Calliope from Young and the Restless or was Day of Our Lives

This is a tough one, as you can check the lists and be sure it is not a popular name and then bang that year it is in the top 100 (talking here from experience, who would think Evelyn would make it back to the top 100, add to that the nickname Evie was pretty much top 5 and may 1 locally, really stuffed up there).

This was us with all three of our girls. We thought none of them were popular, none of them were in the top lists. But no as soon we named our girls they were popular. DD1 and her best friend share the same name. DD2 shares a name with a famous couple's daughter. And since DD3 was born, we have met several girls with the same name, and a version has already been suggested in this thread!

What do you think about names with "lie" in them" Aaliyah, Delilah, Calliope, all have the sound in them. It kinda off sets me a bit. What do you think?
