    chamberry,
hey, i think i really depends on what kind of family you are and the bub's personality. I'm thinking of the Phoneix family of actors - river, rain, joaquin etc. they all seem like strange names to me but once you get used to it and see the people (read interviews with them) their name really makes sense and suits them. iykwim.

I really like the name Poet for a little girl. it's sort of romantic. I saw it in my baby book the other day actuallly... I don't mind Monet really either although i do think of tuna mornay when i read it! and the colour purple which was used alot by the artist.

But i think ribbon would be a stretch. sorry, not real keen on that one.

but as i said before, its really up to a child to grow into their name. some kids with some off-centre names, well you couldn't imagine them as being a jane or isabell. I'd love to hear what you decide on.

    good luck with it

I think Monet is a real pretty name and nay for short is also nice (i think u always should think of what a name may be shortened to incase u dont like the shortened version!)
Ribbon i am not so sure of but if you names her Poet she would fit into her name!
i think its the babies that decide their name & the one you go with with be the one that best suits her!

Not a fan of any sorry...

Interesting about the people named Monet being more inclined to depression, though probably not surprising when you think about it really.

Perhaps I would use Ribbon as a middle name - I like the inspiration for the name, though seems to be a permanent reminder that your mum died from cancer, and not who she was yk?

    Anyway, good luck!
