Too similar?

Our first baby's name is Aidan, and if we have a Boy this time, my Husband likes Ethan....too similar?

I am in 2 minds about it, I really like Ethan and want the names to compliment each other but what do you think?

I don't think they are to similar. I like them together. Now if you want similar, you know DD1 name. My favourite girls name at the moment is Cecelia

I think they go well together and arent too similar. I love both names, Aiden and Ethan were on my list but SIL called her son Aiden and we were blessed with three girls

I don't think they're too similar either. When I was working on names for Miss A I tried out calling all three kids' names at once and if my tongue got tangled then the name was rejected. There were a couple for Miss A that I was seriously considering until I did that

Thanks girls! I was thinking I was a bit paranoid but I am now warming to it plus DH and I agree on very few names so it's a miracle we both like Ethan. LOL

My Husband's Cousin and his wife called their son Hayden. He is about 9 months younger than DS and the grandparents always get confused!

I agree that they aren't too similar. Our DS is H@yden & we had picked out Evan for DD if she had been a boy. Those names are kind of similar to your two. We have an Aidan, a Jayden & two Caitlyns in our extended family on my side. Very confusing lol!

We've already picked out the middle name....this will be my husband's middle name (Alexander) So our first Son has his Daddy's first name as his middle name and our second son (if it's a boy) will have his Daddy's middle name....Ethan Alexander actually goes well together!

For a girl I am considering Charlotte.....every Charlotte I know is a beautiful little girl. I know it's fairly common but I have an unusual name and hate it. If I knew it wouldn't make Mum upset I would have it changed

I don't think there is anything wrong with choosing names that are common. I did! Lots of people would agree, otherwise there would be no common names lol.
