Traditional girls names ending in a

We still haven't got our girls name organised yet and it is starting to drive me insane. I keep looking at different lists and keep finding the same names and thought maybe you lovely ladies might have some suggestions outside of the top 100 lists.

The top 3 I like are Olivia, Amelia and Eliza. However we wonder if Olivia is too popular at the moment, Amelia is a bit wishy washy and I like Eliza but can't quite convince DH of that one.

We like girls names that end in a or "ah" sound, are traditional, that are strong but still feminine and will travel well during childhood into adulthood. The middle name will be Jane and our last name has 3 syllables.

    Thanks for your ideas.

*sings* Oh Eliza.. lil Liza Jane...

hahah... yes.. I can mock it.. coz I'm Elizabeth Jane! And when I didn't do my piano practice my teacher called me Eliza Dolittle. pfft.

I quite like Amelia... I haven't heard of any around here, and I don't think it sounds wishywashy

Oh Liz thanks for the heads up on the song didn't know about that. Just had a look on You Tube and at least its not a bad song. On a positive note least it means the 2 names go together well enough to be put in a song

I like the suggestions of Anna, Eva and Jacinta

    Keep them coming.

    Thanks

    I love Arianna - Pronounced "Ah-ree-ah-na"

    Also,

    Eva/Ava
    Isabella
    Georgia/Georgina
    Amaya
    Hannah
    Victoria
    Savannah

I also love names that carry from baby to child to adult...

Something "Cute and Sweet" when they're young like "Awww look at little baby _____ she's so adorable!"

But "Strong, Mature & Classy" when they're adults - A name you could take seriously on the door of an office one day!

    Good Luck!
