Expecting little Baby A in late may/early June. We're pretty sorted for a boys name and we're almost set on a first name for a girl so I'm after some thoughts/opinions on the middle names we've been talking about.
Firstly, we think the first name will be Zara. DH LOVES 'Eternity' for a middle name but I'm not at all convinced. I'd love to say, 'yes, let's use it' because I know he loves it so much and he's gone with my ideas for first names but I can't help thinking it's a bit hippy/bogan! Sorry I know that these are really subjective terms to use and I hope I don't offend anyone in using them!
Our other middle name option is Elizabeth as it's my middle name and my nana's middle name and her mum's middle name and so on.
I'm probably with you with the 'Eternity' thing, and we are thinking of doing my middle name for our bub too. I'm all for 2 middle names. At least then he'll be happy too.
Would you go Zara Elizabeth Eternity.... or Zara Eternity Elizabeth...?
Hmm..... TBH I don't think Eternity goes with Zara (probably wouldn't go with many names). Is there a variation for Eternity that your DH might go for or perhaps an alternative. I know my DH threw up the name Trinity. I like but don't love it IYKWIM.... If you were to consider Eternity I'd put in the second middle name of Elizabeth and go with Zara Elizabeth Eternity - flows the best I think. JMO of course!
I like Zara Elizabeth the best. Like a pp, I don't think Eternity flows very well with Zara. If you were to use it, Zara Elizabeth Eternity goes together ok.
I like Zara Elizabeth. I don't like Eternity as a name and don't think it goes with Zara.
I have 2 middle names and so does 1 of my brothers, we both have grandparents name as middles name hense having 2. DH did not want to do this when we had kids so ours only have 1 name each.
I think 2 middle names are fine, and if that means your DH is happy.... then Zara Elizabeth Eternity is still a lovely and unique name for a little girl.
My nephew has two middle names because sister and BIL wanted to honour a grandfather from either side and knew they weren't having any more kids so they chose two middle names.
I don't mind the two middle names idea, but TBH, I don't like Eternity. I do think it's a bit hippy and don't forget she will live with her name for all her life. A friend of mine has two middle names and one of them is Hope and I've always thought it was a bit hippy...
Both of my boys have 2 middle names. The first middle name we have a family connection name, the second middle name is a bit 'wacky'/alternative. I like it cos they have that different name that is tucked away in there if they want it iykwim, they can use it or ignore it or whatever. And I think Zara Elizabeth Eternity has a nice ring to it. And it keeps you both happy! Although, now that we've started this two-middle-name gig we kinda feel obliged to continue it, so if we ever manage to have a 3rd child we will have to keep it going I guess!
I think if you can live with it then make DH's day and go with Zara Elizabeth Eternity! Middle names are so rarely used anyway, it's not like you'd be actually calling her that all the time so it will only be used when you/she has to fill out official documentation...
Nothing wrong at all with two middle names. And I kind of like Eternity (so hand me a daisy chain and call me a hippy! ) but I think it would be kind of hard to carry as a name. Agree with PP's, Zara Elizabeth Eternity flows better.
I think I'll suggest the two middle name option Zara Elizabeth Eternity.
I'm ok with having two longish E names as it's kind of another reflection of my Nana's name which was Dorothy Evelyn Elizabeth and our surname is quite short.
Plus Eternity is one of DH's better suggestions - beats Sunshine, Tuesday and Aurora in my opinion!
Now, to wait and see if we actually have a daughter!
All of our girls have 2 middle names. And thats because of my brother, he has two middle names, and I thought it was a nice connection to their uncle (even if he doesnt get the connection yet). On top of that, each of the girls first middle name starts with an A.
I like the double E, and if you both like it then thats even better
