I could probably handle those names better if they were spelt how they sounded. No one is ever, ever going to work out that La-a is La-dash-a.

At least Abcde is going to learn to spell his/her name easily

Hmmm La-a is interesting... in a good way! I think I almost like it!!

Having thought about this a bit more, if they spell La-a like that and say it like they do, why do they not spell out the other two hyphens, so she would be La dash dash dash a or are the other two 'silent' dashes?

to be brutally honest - the poor kids!! imagine having to try and explain that every time you were asked your name?

my name is hard enough to explain let alone the hyphen

If i were a stand in school teacher i'd think that was a fake roll name a-la rowan atkinson's "roll call"

I think it's cruel.... I have a different name and when ppl say it they hesitate, it is so annoying and as a child embrassing to always have to correct ppl. I just feel sorry for the children. I like the way the names sounds but as for the spellings..they are just wrong.

    Or Synamyn....

    Or Chynn'nah-bloo

Divvy, did you come across those at work? My friend who dealt with these girls (yes there are two little girls out there with these names) is in the same field as you.

Noooo. That's too funny. Can't wait to share those names with the other teachers at my school. Kitt3n, that's hilarious. Yep, you'd definitely think you were having your leg pulled if you saw Abcde on the roll.

hmmm...just how far will people go in their quest to be 'original' with baby names? I truly hope using symbols instead of letters in names is not something that catches on!

    That's just plain mean.

The names are ok, but the spelling is a cruel joke.
