Unique VS Traditional - Leesa's Baby Name Poll

Keep in mind - DD's name is Madeline, DS's name is Blake and I have no issues choosing a name that doesn't 'blend' .

And you can pick more than one answer - so if you like Ryder but not Oriana, leave me a comment so I can seriously sort this name issue out once and for all!!!

I like all of them except the "o" girls ones. That wasn't much help was it.

    Just voted!

Can I add a comment too??? I think the problem with "unique" names is that often they dont turn out to be that unique after all. With everyone striving to be "different" everyone ends up being the same. (eg. Nine years ago my friend called her daughter Ella. It was very unique at the time, no-one we knew or had heard of had used it. Now every second kid is called Ella!!) Unless of course the name is very unique and then the poor child will either be (a) picked on, (b) have to spell out their name for everyone their entire life, (c) have to live with people mispronouncing and/or misspelling their name their entire lives.

Also, there is a very fine line between unique and "bogan". (Speaking generally, not saying any of your names are bogan names!!!!)

That said, I understand you dont want a traditional name that is too common. So I understand your dilemma!!!!

Best of luck whatever way you decide to go

I like Mitchell and Georgia. Paige is OK. Jett is very common. Oriana and Orianthi are bogan like names

Fletcher is the name of a family member's dog

    Say Ryder slowly.

    Hey Leesa
    Just voted.

As you know I love George for a boy and if I was having a girl strong chance Georgia would have been her name, I also love Fletcher and fletch for short so that's where my vote went.

I like Georgia, Jett and Ryder. I also don't mind Paige. Oriana and Orianthi sound pretty, but make me think of Oreos. Sorry.

I like Mitchell and Oriana. Not much of a fan of Ryder as I know a Ryder and he is horrible (I know how bad that sounds, I really do, but it's the truth! lol), so he has put me off the name.

Yup - Orianthi being the guitarist who played with MJ before he passed away.

Thanks so much ladies - I think (98% sure) you have picked a winner for me....

In the Baby book I'll add in the section where it says 'Mum and Dad picked my name.........by an online BB poll'!!! Love it! Now, to sell my belly as advertising space lol!

Oooh selling belly as advertising space! What a great idea, i wonder who would buy? Could you imagine something like VB? Bet that would go down well on the morning shows

Ok, off topic now.... Maybe another thread is required to ponder this concept
