I don't think it is a great idea - no offense intended, but it is a little strange. Just wondering how the child would feel ??? Maybe you could do some variation of it - or keep it a a middle name for your third too, and continue the tradition???

I don't see a problem with it. Because you've already used it twice it's clearly a special name to you and I think it actually makes it special for the child who scores it as a first name.

I can imagine if anyone does ask the older boys their middle name it could go something like:
    George
    Oh, your brother's name?
    Yep, it's a family name

    No biggie

like Meow mentioned it's no biggie !

if it was me my only concern would be if your first two sons felt a little left out or the middle name George not feeling as important if the 3rd son got I guess for a better word more entitlement with his first name being George (?) ... Another thing to take into consideration but again no biggie would it look like you had no boys first name chosen and just went with George (?) ... But then if your own family members know how important the name George is to you and your DH well then maybe it would be of no surprise to family members and everyone think it's lovely the 3rd son being named George as the first name !!
Hope I haven't confused you with all that, lol ! ... I reckon if it ALL feels comfortable with you both then go with George as a first name.

    Welcome home Shar

I say go for it if you love the name. My DS middle name is Isaac and i would use that as a first name if DH allowed it lol

My first name is my sister's middle name - although Mum had 9 kids and I was the youngest so maybe she just ran out of names she liked!

    I say go for it!

Yeah, why not. Middle names are rarely used anyway.
