    What do you think of...

DH likes the name Casper for a boy..... I do like it, but I don't love it - iykwim?
In its favour are the fact that its only 2 syllables and is pronounced how it looks (I prefer shorter names for boys that are easy to spell!)

But then there's Casper the friendly ghost.... Am I being ridiculous or do other people think of this when they see this name?
What are your thoughts on Casper/Kasper? And which spelling do you prefer? You can be honest- I won't be offended!!
    Thanks!

    X

I do associate the name Casper with the little ghost but it wouldnt stop me. I think it is a gorgeous name!!! I can see someone growing up with it as well. Do you have a strong last name that could carry it off?

Dont like it with a k

I think of the ghost too but I don't see that as a negative thing!

Soon after he is born he will "own" his name and soon people will forget about the ghost and associate the name with your little man!

    I think it's really cool!

    Another suggestion...

    Jasper

Wow- that was quick! Thanks for your thoughts. I do have a strong (rather boring) last name I suppose.
I prefer Casper over Kasper too....
DH and I actually joke that DS1 looks like Casper the ghost because he has white blond hair, big blue eyes and fair skin... so we know the name would probably suit another son!

    Thumbs up

I very affectionately nicknamed my nephew CASPER (his name is Felix) ... The first time i saw him he was 6wks old (i was overseas during that time) ... he looked lily white & had the biggest eyes like Casper the friendly ghost

I much prefer the spelling CASPER

I like both Casper and Jasper but DH HATES both!

I don't really think of the ghost, and I don't think that Casper the friendly ghost is still around these days so I wouldn't be that worried about it.

I like it with a C but spelled Caspar. It seems slightly more sophisticated that way, but would be a pain having to correct spelling all the time.

I think it would grow on you.

That name has become popular recently. i have just heard a friend called her little boy Casper only a few weeks ago. i like it - its a cute name and as you say is easy to pronounce and spell.

    Good luck with the name!!

I guess names can sound cute for a little boy/girl but it needs to sound 'right' for a grown adult too iykwim.

I love it, and I'd spell it Kaspar.
Its one of my favourite names and I wanted it for this bub if a boy, but DH ruled it out

I know a Casper who is a teenager, very lovely name.
We're going Jasper for a boy. Danish pronounce it Yasper (just some variation for you). xo
