Kelly for a boy?? My DH and I both love it and were considering using it for our first and second sons but chickened out. As this little boy will be our third and final we are seriously considering naming him Kelly. I just wanted to put it out there and see what general thoughts I get back. I dont want to tell anyone close to us just yet as I know there are a few rellies that will think it is very wierd to name a boy Kelly.
Considering that there arent that many girls being named Kelly anymore, and that it seems to be pretty much anything goes with baby names these days I think it will be quite a strong, masculine and very cool name. ( My other two boys have very strong names).
BTW - I used to (well kinda still do) have a massive crush on Kelly Slater so that may be the reason for my love of this name.
I thinks that's fantastic. I have a weird/boy sounding kinda name myself, and believe me, it builds character and teaches you to stand up for yourself.
I wouldn't blink if I met a boy named Kelly- in fact, I'd think it was a great name.
I was about to say, isn't Kelly Slater a guy? LOL!!!
I think it would take a little getting used to but I don't see why not.
In Irish origins Kelly means brave warrior - very fitting for a strong boys names
just wanted to let you know, not that it probably makes any difference, but i don't think that kelly is kelly slater's real name.
dh reckons his name is actually robert and that kelly started as a nickname?
idk? but just thought i'd put it out there.
i like the name though, always have.
I think its pretty cool for a boy actually. I wouldnt do it, but I like it . Give him a manly middle name though! Kelly Ashley or Kelly Charlie will not work lol.
