What do you think of alliterated names?

We have bub number 2 on the way and of course have started thinking about names.
I have a particular name that keeps running through my head but I keep going 'nah, I don't like it when the letter to the first name and surname are the same.'
So what do you think, is alliteration of names ok?
I don't want my son to be known as M and M (Eminem)

I don't think it matters really, within reason. I've heard some shockers but I think most are fine.

My DS is SS - we didn't plan for that, just the name we liked. He has middle names too so it can be broken up a bit.

I quite like Miriam Margaret for a girl, if she marries a Mr M then she'll be MMM, which I think is a lot nicer than having initials "EWW" or "YUK".

I think they are fine depending on the name choice.

There are lots of famous people with alliterated names like:

    Benjamin Bratt
    Jesse Jackson
    David Duchovny
    Farah Fawcett
    Holly Hunter
    Brigette Bardot
    Janet Jackson
    Lenox Lewis
    Mike Myers
    Renee Russo

I am sure there are plenty of others out there but thats all DP and I could think off.

Marvel comics - about 90% of the heroes have alliterative names too.

(Most film people change a name to be more alliterative so they are more easily remembered.)

Our DD's name is a GG...it sounds perfectly fine and seems to flow quite nicely.

Alot depends on the names and how they sound together.
DS is MM and no one has or would refer to him as m'n'm.

Should be fine! We are worried about us all having alliterated names, LOL!
We all have initials AS - slightly different, however amusing... certainly has put me off hyphenating when e get married too... A S-S

I had the same concern with DS and ended up not choosing an M name because of the alliteration but I think it was more the nickname of that certain name paired with the surname IYKWIM?

I think its fine as long as the names don't rhyme and are different phonetically.
    I also think its best when the names have different syllable amounts. For example;
Mike Myers sounds better than Mike Melm or something - iykwim?

i think that it is fine, but as others have said, be mindful of what the initial spell.
DSS begins with M and Molly Jane is also an M (obviously!!) so they are M and M...
Also, something that we didnt really consider is that Molly rhymes with DH's name, which is why her name is hypenated to Molly-Jane so that it doesnt sound like i am calling or referring to her when im talking about him...iykwim.

    Congratulations

I actually like them - I think it can have a really nice ring depending on the name
When I got married I became a BB... one of the boys names we like starts with a B.
