We have bub number 2 on the way and of course have started thinking about names.
I have a particular name that keeps running through my head but I keep going 'nah, I don't like it when the letter to the first name and surname are the same.'
So what do you think, is alliteration of names ok?
I don't want my son to be known as M and M (Eminem)
Should be fine! We are worried about us all having alliterated names, LOL!
We all have initials AS - slightly different, however amusing... certainly has put me off hyphenating when e get married too... A S-S
I had the same concern with DS and ended up not choosing an M name because of the alliteration but I think it was more the nickname of that certain name paired with the surname IYKWIM?
I think its fine as long as the names don't rhyme and are different phonetically.
I also think its best when the names have different syllable amounts. For example;
Mike Myers sounds better than Mike Melm or something - iykwim?
i think that it is fine, but as others have said, be mindful of what the initial spell.
DSS begins with M and Molly Jane is also an M (obviously!!) so they are M and M...
Also, something that we didnt really consider is that Molly rhymes with DH's name, which is why her name is hypenated to Molly-Jane so that it doesnt sound like i am calling or referring to her when im talking about him...iykwim.
Master J is either JJ or JP depending on how I'm feeling!
i think it's fine!
You also have a few footy players that had alliterated names... such as
Brett Burton (Adelaide)
Greg Gallman (Adelaide)
Jarrhan Jacky (Adelaide)
Scott Stevens (Adelaide)
Kieran King (Brisbane Lions)
Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood)
Darcy Daniher (Essendon)
Heath Hocking (Essendon)
Mark McVeigh (Essendon)
Jason Johnston (ex essendon)
Mark Mecuri (Ex Essendon)
Mal Michael (Ex Essendon)
Benjamin Bucovaz (Fremantle)
Scott Simpson (Geelong)
Shane Savage (Hawthorn)
Travis Tuck (Hawthorn)
Chad Cornes (Port Adelaide)
Hamish Hartlett (Port Adelaide)
Matthew Martin (Port Adelaide)
Marlon Motlop (Port Adelaide)

Toby Thurstans (Port Adelaide)
Mitch Morton (Richmond)
Jordan Jones (West Coast)
Nicholas Naitanui (West Coast)
Scott Selwood (West Coast)

I actually like them - I think it can have a really nice ring depending on the name
