as for the whole its a dogs name, dont listen.
i have recieved plenty of compliments on how cute the name is! worst thing ive heard about the name oscar is "oscar the grouch" of sesame street!
go for a name you like, dont let people put you off a name.
dogs are allowd to have humans names and vise versa...
