    I've only heard it as a girls name in my surroundings, but that doesn't mean it's no good for a boy.

    I personally love the shortening to 'Mack' for a boy.

    These days i think of GIRL ... Although the very 1st time i heard of it years ago i firstly thought it was a boy's name as it sounded masculine

    I think GIRL... Have met many Girl Mackenzie's, never a boy, although I do have a male friend with the surname Mackenzie!

    But if you love it, use it! There are no rules! And next time someone asks this question, we can all say, we know of a little boy named Mackenzie

    FWIW, I do love the name for either!
