    Who likes Jaya?

Just a general question (am not UTD yet)! But wondered is Jaya a nice girl's name or is it one of those unusual names that is a bit of a fad?

As a teacher I relate names to kids I've taught and to me it is a boys name because of that! I love it as a name though and could see it as a girls name too!

Oh I didn't know it was a boys name. i thought it was a girl's name of Indian origin. Is it one of those made up modern boy's names IYKWIM ?

It is a nice name if you have the right ethnic background, but otherwise it does seem a bit faddish. There's nothing wrong with it aside from that, though.

I don't like any of the variants like Jayda and Jayla- those are invented names with no history of use beyond the last few years, so they seem much more like passing fads.
