Definitely Isaac!! I much prefer traditional spellings and I doubt there will be any confusion with the pronounciation as it is a well known name.

Izak seem to sound too "quick" to say when spelt that way IMO. Plus he will have a horrid time constantly correcting people on the spelling.

Nomatter which way it is spelt though, if you're worried about teasing it would happen with either spelling. Kids won't be looking at how his name is spelt if they are going to come up with names.

I honestly don't think that will happen with Isaac though - it's a gorgeous name. Maybe if you're worried about it with your surname then you need to think of some other options?

I personally love the name isaac. I would keep the spelling as isaac otherwise it will probably just be spelt wrong constantly and it keeps it trendy but still traditional. Good luck

I know another member of BB has a son Isaac. I prefer it spelt that way but then I am a bit traditional with names

there are a heap of isaac's at the place where i work and i would never have thought of those two ways of teasing that name. i actually like the spelling izak but just cause it is differnt, not cause i think the other way would get teased. (sorry that isnt worded very well but you know what i mean )

Definitely Isaac, and I've never heard of one being teased! Any name can be teased, or even not a name, a feature etc, so it cant' be avoided. (hopefully it just won't happen ) xo

I am another one who prefers the traditional spelling. Isaac just looks nicer than Izak I think. And like the others have said, if there is any teasing, it will be based on the sound of the name, not how it is spelt. If you love the name, then go with it and don't worry about whether he will be teased.

Definately Isaac. Names are only an issued (possibly) when they are younger and I think Isaac suits a grown man much better.

I agree with SA - imagine in 40 years when your son is a top judge or similar - Isaac is much more mature than Izac.

Thanks so much for your replies. I will be honest we have already named our beautiful boy but I am having such ..a terrible time adjusting to his name ... I have even thought of changing it (terrible I know) ... sometimes I am ok with it, other times I just here it a certain way and the stress starts again.
I find myself quite depressed about it, which I know is so completely ungrateful as we have the most special little boy.
What to do .. I have been told I just have to get past it, which I know is true just find that hard for some reason.
Aussienic please dont take it as I dont like the name, not at all .. just cant get used to it with my little fella and also sounds funny with my surname. No one else heres it but me it seems.
Changing the spelling for me was a way I could be sure people would not misread the name, I too prefer the original spelling. I always wondered why people spelt names phonetically .. now I know why. I never thought it could be said incorrectly but it does many time and it drives me crazy. But I am very sensitive to it for sure.
Thanks again to you all for your advise..
