MadB, would this be eased with some extra padding between her and your back to ease her bottom outwards?

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. I'm not sure. The SSC body is quite structured, I have a feeling it would not be comfy like that. Might be something to keep in mind for an MT, though.
I took some 'bum shots' and her legs definitely are wider in the SCC compared to when I wrap her. In the double hammock carry her bum seems to stick out more and her knees are at a narrower angle. I will try and wrap for the physio on thursday and see what she reckons. I decided to sell the SSC anyway, since I'm not using it. If DH could get his head around it - he gets so confused with wraps - then I might have kept it for carrying DS. never mind. he can walk.
So how's everyone going? I feel like I've really hit my wrapping stride in the past few weeks. Wrapping in the carpark even for quick trips to the shops. :) Have to get in as much as possible - DD will be walking soon and it might all be over.
ok everyone, start spamming with your pictures!!!!
I'll start with a picture of my bottom

can I show you a photo without a baby in the wrap ;)
I totally nailed a back carry today - got him on and off without feeling unco or like I was going to drop him :)
Oh and since we're picture spamming, here's one of my new pretty ring sling

Hope this works. This is DD2 at eight weeks in a back carry (prefer to use a shorter wrap now).
This is my Ellevil Paisley size 6.

And this is why she likes it so much - she can see everything! About 10 weeks here. In a Didy size 4. I can just double hammock in that size.

This is at the beach the other day, size 2 front carry tied under her bottom. My size 2 is getting lots of use because I can tie it quickly, it doesn't drag on the ground and it fits in my bag. I do three different carries - back ruck tied in front, front carry tied under bottom and rebozo hip carry (slip knot turns it into carry like a ring sling). Perfect for quick carries! And it's getting on to broken in, given it's linen and I bought it new.
Spamming done for now. ;)
woo hoo! Jen photo spam.
hey, why do your pics show up as embedded images? must be a tapatalk thing. you both look fab!
CK. I absolutely love the ring sling look.

LOVE that green themrs!
Lovely colour - my ergo is boring old black :)
I still use my pram sometimes....mostly for piling full of random stuff though!
The Ergo is great for their hips. they make infant inserts that are made to help them and once they grow out of them they use the bottom portion :)
mrs - do you use the insert now? my ergo has gone awol and i am doing a mega search for it atm. i don't have an infant insert so not sure if ds will be ok now or if it will have to wait few months. i am just using close carrier now, but loving all the pics and would love to get bit more adventurous.
Hi ladies, coming in for some advice on your favourite carrier. I had a ring sling (think that's what they're called?) for DS but I wasn't confident using it at that time. I do like the style of the one the Mrs has in her photo but :dunno: what are comfy and whats not..
HotI I stopped using the infant insert in the ergo sport around 3 months of age - mind you, DS has excellent head control and is not a small baby by any stretch of the imagination  Try him out in it (when you find it!) and see how you go, I've also heard that a rolled up terry flat or small towel in the bottom is a suitable option if they need boosting up a little.
As for favourite carrier - I'd have to go the beco butterfly2. Way more adjustable than the ergo, more comfortable and has a built in newborn insert whereas they have to be bought separately with the ergos. Plus the becos have nicer patterns :)
NAAAAWWWW. love all the beautiful squishes!
Re the ergo, I *think* they need to be big enough to sit in it legs out and have good enough head/neck control to hold themselves up. Unlike some other SSCs the head support isn't too great as it's a fairly short body. The Becos, Manduca, Olive&Applesauce and some others have inbuilt newborn harnesses so can be used from birth without additional items. So, Schonell, if you like that sort of thing you might want to consider one of these other brands. The prices are all fairly similar, I think. The ergo is an option, also. maybe look at the colours/patterns available and see which you prefer :)
we took out the pillow of the Ergo infant insert and are just using that now. It helps so that her tailbone isnt affected. you can also use (like someone mentioned) a towel orsomething.
DD fit in the ergo from 3 months :)
More pics please :)
Ok i'm crap at the back carry with a woven wrap. Anyone got any hints or tips for me please :)
I've a girasol 3.6m & 4.6m
Thanks :)
what are you trying to do cheshire?
Ruck with the 3.6m? There's a rucksack tutorial linked in this thread - https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ube-58821.html
Tips for rucking -
Get a good seat. The method demonstrated in the above tute is good. I tuck the top rails under my chin, rather than in teeth. Find that easier. But then you can reach back with both hands and really yank the seat up nice and deep.
Tighten across the wrap - from top to bottom rail. Don't just tighten the rails. The pixie curl video for the double hammock (also in that thread) demonstrates this.
If i do a simple rucksack carry do i use the shorter wrap?
I use my shorter wraps for simple ruck sack Cheshire, but you don't have to. You'd need the longer one for the double hammock I think.
The ruck sack is easier to do but the double hammock was more reassuring for me when I started back carrying. There's other back carry variations that might work for you too (YouTube and Google can show you plenty). Once I'd mastered the double hammock I got more proficient at ruck sack.
Yep, the shorter one. I would start with the ruck, as it's quite straight-forward. Get a handle on one carry, then move on to others. Double hammock is a great carry, but sliding the passes round the back can be tricky for some - it partly depends on the bendiness of your arms (;)) and the wrap itself.
My Ergo is still MIA, but i have found a few other things in my searching for it. ON the positive, i have worked out how to use the mei tie and it is actually quite comfy. I have had 2 old style NMA mei ties for a loooong time, but never really liked them (because i wasn't tying them properly). i think i might add a little length to the straps, and then it will be great as a spare carrier. they fold up to very little space too.
mmm, might even make a couple if i can find some funky material.
I KNEW i shouldnt have come into this thread!! Ive been browsing & i am really liking the beco. Does anyone have a gemini one?
Took dd to the footy in the CC. She pretty much slept for the whole game, just woke for a feed at half time. Quite a few people wanted to talk to me about the carrier & they all thought it was awesome. It was so much easier than a pram - esp as we went on the train & there were around 86,000 people!
Love all the photos :)

I don't have the Gemini, I have the Butterfly 2 though - I love it. Love it love it love it. Really easy to use and so comfortable - I've done a full day's zoo trip with my boofy bub and not been sore at the end. And now that I've got the hang of getting him on and off of my back it's even better.

Someone loves baby wearing xx

Nawwwww cute, LnD! DD2 is always worn at church and I get lots of comments. Also means I don't have to leave the service if she's fussy because a quick stroll up the side settles her down. Everyone thinks she's quiet, but really, she's just happy in a FWCC. ;)
Well if I'm going to be up at 3am when both my babies are sleeping, I may as well see if I can post a pic.

I love the look on DD2's face. It says "Hehe, check me out." :)
gorgeous TC!
Love the pic!
Have successfully convinced a friend of mine (bjorn user) to try my SSC(s) and she's now trying to convince her husband they want to buy a beco. And she's coming to a meet up this week to check out a couple of other options :)
Does anyone else find they get the irrits with well meaning people who try to help you get bub in and out, especially with a back carry? My lovely husband warned a friend off when I was shifting DS onto my back saying "yeah it looks as awkward as heck but she knows exactly what she's doing"
Even DH knows DO NOT TOUCH these days. Strangers OMG Grrrrrr
