Yay a babywearing thread!
I started out with a bubba moe and a HAB with DD1. The bubba moe was too hard to adjust and the HAB was too hot for a summer bub. While pregnant with DD2 I did some research and I now have 4 wovens and 2 ring slings. I've decided I need another ring sling to keep in DH's car after I got caught without a carrier on the weekend so am thinking of getting one of my wovens converted.

I was a financially responsible person last night.
My bestie offered me first dibs on the obimama that I sold to her but dh said no
So instead of ignoring him like I usually do (haha!) I said to put it on the buy and sell page. Broke my heart!

My wrap has finally arrived in the country! It's only taken a couple of months! Now to pay for it and wait again... Should be here early next week!!!

It's a Melkaj, so originally from Poland. I suspect it got here via the UK, and I bought it second hand. It's so lovely. The summer that DD was born was viciously hot, and she's a sweaty Betty, as am I, so it was a godsend. AND Melkajs are supremely comfy. Worth every $$.

Yippee! My backpack and suck pads have arrived for the ergo - looks like I can use them with the beco too. Took the beco out for a shopping trip, DS spent a good while looking around being nosey before falling asleep

this might be a good "investment" for us, DH is Dutch and doesn't handle anything over 30 very well and DS is very similar. Im ok, im always cold! Do you think it would fit a tall man who has massive shoulders and ribcage? *toddles of to google*

Haha, we have a Dutch friend who I caught sweating at 24 before his firs summer here! And yes, the Melkaj is a great fit on a tall frame. They have looooooong straps for extra goodness.

My Didy Indio size 5 arrived today! Yay, my first woven wrap!
When DD was a bub I carried her in a HaB- it was blue and orange! Hehehe, now they have lovely neutral tones. I went looking for it recently but I must have given it away. I bought an Ergo when DS1 was born. Now we have two- one for home, and one that stays in the car for outings. One is a Petunia Picklebottom design- black and white. All of my boys have liked the Ergo. I wore DS3 to a funeral last week in the Ergo, and he slept through the service. Thankfully.
My Indio is black and white too. I actually ordered a blue and white one but was contacted and informed that I could have a black/white straight away or wait 5 weeks for blue/white- I chose instant gratification! Actually DS3 is enormous, I wasn't game to wait 5 weeks. He is nearly 6kg at almost 5 weeks.
Sterla- did your Zara Mild arrive?

TC - have you tried a double hammock on the back? That way there's a bit less onus on getting the seat perfect to start with. I do like the double hammock, but for a quick back carry with my new shortie (size 2), I'm just doing a basic ruck. The double hammock is more supportive, but you need a slightly longer wrap. I can manage it with a size 4, but only just. I'll use my 6s when she's bigger. I agree with you on the ring slings too. I've also mastered the slip knot (yay me!) to do a rebozo hip carry (comes out much like a ring sling style carry, heart to heart) with my shortie. The advantage being if I wanted to I could use it for other carries if need be.

My Didy black and white sz 4 arrived today and I can do a great double hammock with it. Looks classy, will go well with some of my more conservative clothes.
Now just waiting on my new RS and the gorgeous Didy Papillon I just bought because I *had* to. Anyone on the FB group can check out how pretty it is!

I've gone a little nuts and bought myself a few new wraps.an Oscha size two Red Sahara, the most gorgeous butterfly patterned-Didymos in a six and hopefully something lovely from a fellow BWer! Atm I'm loving my black and white Didy size four for back carrying and my Paisley for front. The Paisley is def the softest.
Ash - DP is great with DD2 in the Ergo. She falls asleep for him easily. I have to teach him to wrap, he's keen but unsure. I'm hoping our nanny, who starts next week, will find the Ergo easy to use.
Anyone have any feedback on getting a carer to wear their babies? Advice, tips?

Jenn, your new wraps sound lovely. My DH is happy to use the Ergo but I don't think he has any interest in wraps. I think he wonders why I bought one. And I think he has bad memories of the HaB. It took him a while to get the hang of it without me helping. What size is your paisley? I've realised I might have to buy a size 6 of something too. Not sure what though.

My Zara arrived on Friday and I have finally had time to play around with it today. Have mainly been trying front carries (with both kids) and it's really good. DS really loved it actually - just like a big cuddle! I definitely need practice, but I don't think it will take too long to get the hang of.
I'm going to a sling meet on Friday, so I'll get some help with back carries then
