Ruck with tibetan tie and double hammock. Bizarrely I haven't tried any of the front carries yet, DD and I seem to like back the best!

I'm already impatient waiting for my Girasol. I've just practiced a few back carries with my pink Hug a Bub and one of my Cabbage Patch dolls

So, it has come to this.
DH has been the favourite for me. But I find i'm using a ruck more since it's so quick and DD2 now tolerates it (she used to hate ot for some reason). Still prefer DH for longer periods.
i always do front cross. on my back i do a ruck cause its quick. i do prefer dh but it takes me ages and dd gets impatient

Go with the most natural/gentle type cleansers - no optical whiteners/bleach etc.
i did just finish a bag of rocking green was tossing up buying more. it would be best eh

Yeah, I use an organic, green wash friendly one, and only a little bit.
Pretty much same as for MCNs only even less, iTMS.
Yay, my Snow Rainbow is here
Here's my first wrap job... Okay, it's really my second, the first (a few mins before this) was a disaster and I didn't want to have her in it long enough to photograph

I adjusted a few things as I walked around the shopping centre, but it stayed pretty much like this for half an hour

Looks great Teni! Colours are so pretty too, very nice
Nice Teni!
Does anyone else get stupid comments from people?
I carry DS in the Sleepy Wrap. Or DD in the RS (back carry). DS (6w) isn't a big fan of the RS yet, he prefers the wrap and so do I at the moment..
I've given in to public demand and bought a $75 double stroller. It's fine, but I still plan to wear DS for a long time.
"You can't carry him forever!"
"That's cute, but it's not practical"
"Don't your shoulders get sore?"
"It doesn't look very comfortable
"Aww 'DD', you look scared back there!" (when she was actually cuddled against my back, quite happy.
Only one person compliments me on wearing DS. She had never seen someone babywearing before (Small country town) and was blown away by how natural it looks. She says that more people should do it, it's how babies were designed, to be close to mum. She's got an older child, so I never expected comments like that.
I get sick of people slagging off baby wearing. I really enjoy it, but feel like I have to defend myself everyday.
A lady said this to me on Saturday in Kmart, I had DS (almost 3.5 and a tiny 14kg) in the ergo on my back, and DD in the pram. I just smiled sweetly!!
He's so light its extremely comfy, he loves it (who doesn't love a piggy back ride), and its better than chasing a 3yo around a department store
Anyway, just popping in/joining this thread, I was never much of a baby wearer when DS was little, he just wasn't interested, and then was in a brace for hip dysplasia so it never quite worked out for us. DD is 4 weeks and I've only had her in the ergo a couple of times (when I've taken DS to the park etc) and she loves it, so do I, so so handy to have free hands to swing the toddler in the swings etc. I've decided I am not paying for a double pram, DS barely uses it now anyway, so I invested in the ergo instead as I can use it for both kids. Best money spent! Loving it! We are going to the Royal Show in a few weeks and it will be brilliant for a day out like that especially. I have the ergo performance, so DH can use it too![]()
No, I only ever get "oh she looks so comfortable."
Am I the only person who only gets positive comments for baby wearing and breast feeding? Never had a bad comment from anyone.
Ive only gotten positive comments, all from eldery women =)
the only 'negitive' i get (which isnt really neg) is from my parents and DH but their only problem is if i am wearing her they cant! the say 'lets use the stroller' but only cause then they get to push/carry her then and im not hogging my baby =P
That' so annoying Charlotte. People get confused by what they don't understand.
I must have gotten lucky as we seem to get mostly positive comments, though some family members ask me constantly why she isn't in the pram. If they could see her yelling her head off, maybe they'd stop!
The only negative comment I've had was my grandmother calling DD2 a "poor third world baby" when I wrapped her on my back. Other people I've come across have commented on how happy she is and what a beautiful smile she has. A few ask me how comfortable I find it.
Give it time. Your babies will show people how great it is. My grandmother also used to tell me I was spoiling DD1, but now is proud of how happy and independent she is. And I don't hear the word spoiling anymore either.
