    Oh beautiful Jen!

I think thinner can be fine for rucking, dpeneding on size of baby and blend. Nebbia, for eg, is quite a thin linen blend and it's great as a ruck and in a double hammock. (I reckon, anyway)
But, if you're looking at something that will last longer as a rucker and straight cotton, then yeah, you would probably want something a bit heftier and grippy is good in a ruck wrap.
If you're size 10-12, then a 3 would be long enough T. But, you may find that like Jen, you can get quite a lot out of a 4, especially something a bit thinner. I've had some 4s that I could ruck and DH in comfortably, which were great.

HPL - a peanut shell is a pouch sling. Some people find they're great, some don't. They do need to be the right size for you to wear. Some also find it tricky to get the newborn positioning right as they're not adjustable. Generally you'd do a cradle hold for a newbie, but if it's sized wrong, or if you don't get them in the right position, there is a risk of breathing issues if they get scrunched over on themselves. You coudl also consider an open-tailed ring sling, which is adjustable and you can wear your baby upright - tummy to tummy - which is easier to get the positioning right.

Tt, I reckon a 4. I got my first 4 on the mail and it was perfect for a ruck tied in front. I tossed up between a 3 or a 4, but decided on the 4 because it's more versatile. I'm a size 12.

I've been playing around with my mt on my back, but i just can't get a comfortable carry that I can wear for a decent amount of time. I find it pulls on my shoulders. I've tried tying a tibetan tie but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

I love my 4 - I'm not small (probably an 18-20) but can RTIF easily and even managed a Jordan's back carry with it. No way in hell could I DH but then, I struggle with the DH anyway even in a 6. I have tried a 2 but they're not for me, DS is too much of a wriggly leg straightener to make me feel comfortable with a RUB.

Not sure on the MT Loula, I find mine really comfortable but do have to make sure I have the Monkey positioned so he's sitting at the top of my hip bones/small of my back and it's tight with his bum right down in the seat before tying. He can just see over my shoulder still but if I have him higher it tends to pull a bit.

I have trouble getting my MT right, too. Still need someone to help me troubleshoot. I'm walking in the city to surf on sunday with it and it needs to be comfy!

Sounds lovely TT, I just googled it - very pretty, looks super soft too.

    Jen, gorgeous!

Loulabelle, I'm having trouble with my MT too. Got it last week, really struggled with both a front and back carry and my wrap-loving DD hated it. I think it's still too new and stiff, made it very slippy and hard to get comfy. Maybe I need to wash and jump on it a few times...think it will be better when she's a little older too, seems biggish.

Tax man was finally nice to me this year so am researching my next purchase. Might get a lightweight wrap for summer, Bali Breeze or Ellaroo...decisions, decisions! Welcome any tips on your favorite summer ones.

I tried ds a little lower on my back and it seemed to help a little. Need someone to have a look what I'm doing I think.

Thought I'd let you guys know incase you're interested that I've got a Oscha midnight on natural linen size 4 up for trade.

Hey, just a reminder that we don't do buy and sell on the general boards. We do have a sling b/s/t thread in the works, so hopefully someone will get round to it shortly

WooHoo!!! I just bought a Girasol rainbow diamond weave!!!!! Soo happy! It's only a size 5 though.. Ideally I would have liked a 6, but should be able to do what I want with a 5.. If not, it should be easy enough to sell on.. She's soooo pretty!!! I'll post an action shot as soon as it arrives!!!

Yay BAL! Rainbows are so pretty

I'm kind of chuffed, just managed a halfway passable DH, but I had to tie under bum instead of coming back around to the front because a 6 just is that teensy bit too short for me. Was comfy enough, so I'm wondering what the difference is or whether it matters all that much? IE should I think about trading/selling one of my 6's to buy a 7 so I have that little bit more fabric to work with?

Ha ha, I wouldn't say I'm any good at it - just that it was halfway passable. I found this video to be the most helpful though - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnNIMyk-WjI
