Oh no. Mirrors or toys may help, yeah! Sometimes it just takes a while to feel comfortable with it. You can try practicing with a toy first, so you are quicker and more confident with the moves, which might help him to relax, too.
Do you hold the top rail tight in your teeth/under you chin while you get the seat sorted? That sort of pins them down a bit. It is very tricky if they don't want to be there! Hopefully you can catch him at a good moment and get it working for you

    Help me ladies.
I got my Girasol and have been attempting a ruck.

DS arches his back when I put him up and the wrap slides up his back. So, by the time I get the wrap under his legs it's all a mess. And all he does is scream and pull my hair.
Tuck the wrap between his legs and u into the top of his pants before you chuck him up on your back, so it is already tucked under and you just have to concerntrate on getting the top rails secure.

How hard is it to make my own wrap?

So far I only have commercially made carrier and sling. I have some material and thought maybe I should think about trying a homemade hug-a-bub style.

Making a homemade stretchy wrap like a HAB is easy and cheap. It's just a matter of getting the right kind of material and cutting it to size really. You may choose to do something like hem or overlock the edges, but that may not even be nessecary depending on the fabric.

Which milky way did you get? The ecru or the indigo? Indigo is TDF! So in love with the pics! Not keen on the ecru as it is (Ive been told its much more yellow IRL then she expected it to be too), but I think it would look fabulous dyed a motly pink/purple/blue.

I got the ecru =) i do love the indigo and purple, (they would be my 2 colours I will choose if i had to pick!), but I wanted to get something linen. Im going to see what it is like when I get it. I have a friend who does amazing dye jobs - grad dyes, tie dee and ice dye (my fave) so if I do get it dyed I'm going to get her to do something so it is completely unique.

edit: just got the email saying it has arrived!!! yay!

I'm pretty sure I've mastered the ruck. Can get him up with minimal fussing and it's great.
I had to go into an appt yesterday and DS was a bit grumpy. So, out came the wrap and I put him in a front carry on DH. My god it was sexy.
My Girasol only just fitted round him!

with a new wrap on the way i have been practicing carries with my current one (size 6...hehe trying to do shorty wraps with a long =P) anyway, i have Spock in a DH atm. can you get them too high? she is asleep, and her head is in the crook of my neck, and pretty sure she is resting on her hands... i know too low is bad, but is there such a thing as too high? it is comfy...

If she's comfy and secure it should be fine, I guess?

I made & dyed a doll wrap for DD yesterday.

I thought there was no such thing as too high until the bad ruck I did yesterday where DD kept head butting the back of my head! But if it's comfy for you both it should all be ok.
