MadB, that is all kinds of awesome! DD1 is obsessed with ring slings - hers and mine. Mine was worn as a sort of sari the other night, and all jer toys are being carried in hers :-)
Question for those with a Caboo/Close carrier - how long did you wear bubs in it for? DS2 is probably 6.5kg by now (hasn't been weighed in a few weeks) and is getting heavy in the Caboo. It cuts into one of my shoulders and gets painful after a while. Is it his weight? Or something else?
Might be time to get into the Ergo... but he's still little and it's getting warm in Melbourne...
Has anyone used a Breeze Baby sling?
I've got a couple of Mai tai carriers that you're welcome to try out before the 18th hon.
Yeah, I don't think they last too long OP
I used the breeze baby when DD was little. It's ok for short periods, but i wouldn't recommend it for any length of time. It's not all that comfy.
You could look into another ring sling, perhaps, or a light wrap
I have a Baby Breeze, it is fabulous for in the water, but I wouldn't use it just as a regular RS for long periods. I think it is only rated up to 14kgs (although I have on occaision had my 17kg boy in it for brief periods). A single layer linen RS would be a much better option IMHO. Something like a sakura bloom. They are very light and airy, yet still supportive and comfortable. I personally prefer a simple gathered should to help distribute the weight better, particularly as bubs gets bigger. :)
I use a breeze baby with DD in the shower. It's fantastic for that but I wouldn't use it for more than quick carries at the beach or pool. I find it diggy after even 5 min. My gathered shoulder linen ring sling on the other hand I can easily wear for more than a hour. Even cotton ring slings are still pretty cool
I'm so confused. Apparently there are people in the US who have Nati Milky Ways, both kinds. But it's an Australian exclusive, and the turquoise/indigo hasn't even arrived to any of the vendors yet! I can understand UK mamas having them, since the wraps were apparently sent via the UK, but how can the Americans have them before us?!
are you sure they really do?
mine is here!!! the white is off white and yellowy... so chances are i will get it dyed as long as you can still see the stars clearly.
cause its new its stiff (30/70 linen/cotton.) i need tips to help soften it. and should i wash it before i do anything??
I'm assuming so. They're on The Babywearer, and there's more than one being offered in trades and for sales, by people who have been around there for a while too :-/
yea thats weird. i thought they were an aust exclusive
I would wash and steam iron TT40.
Yep, would give it a warm wash and iron before you use it. You can tumble dry and braid it to soften it up a bit more, too
thanks girls =) except i dont own an iron....=p
I think I love you.
Something suss about that. As far as I know, none of the Aussie vendors will sell to the US either. Unless they sold elsewhere and they were shipped on from there, but that doesn't even make sense seeing as Ecru has only just gotten through customs in Aust recently, and Indigo has yet to arrive here. US always seems to get Natibaby wraps almost as soon as they are released, I've know people to get them secondhand from the US quicker then mine have arrived in country firsthand from Nati. Thats odd enough, but this is an aussie exclusive and should 'supposedly' have to come her before being shipped on.
Who uses Nati wraps here? I think they're gorgeous, but I read on one (very comprehensive) site that they are quite thick, and therefore not fantastic for warmer climates.
Any thoughts on that?
I live in Kalgoorlie, so for summer, I'll need a thin wrap that breathes well. I'm looking at Lenny Lamb & Ellevill brands particularly the bamboo blends - any reviews on those?
I have just gotten a nati the other day. its is 30% linen 70% cotton, actually feels thinner to me than my ellevill (100% cotton). I got the linen so it would be stronger so I only had to use less layers around Spock and I in summer. so far we have been ok =)
