I have a baba sling but it did cost me $90 i bought it the other day as i found ergo to hard to use on my own with a newborn.
Baba sling soooooooooooo much easier
Hi girls,
I am buying a sling for my best friend who is due in 10 weeks. She is having a baby girl.
She doesn't want a HAB or a Baby Bjorn - she is more into the traditional sling style. She wants a very plain, black sling. So which brand do I go for? Her baby shower is next week so I need to order it in the next day or two.
So far the brands I'm thinking are Peanut Shell ($70), Bubba Moe ($65) and Baba Sling ($99).
Suggestions would be very helpful!
I'm trying to keep it around the $50-$70 mark.

Bear Hug Baby make a great ring sling Amy. They are $50. Much more comfortable than a baba sling (eta, or bubba moe), and adjustable, unlike a peanut shell, which must be sized to the wearer. Australian made too.

i have a baby rock sling and it works a treat!
Suse - I just had a look at their website and it looks like what I'm after (love the price too!).
What is the pocket for at the bottom of the sling? Are the complicated to get on and off? She doesn't want a HAB for the reason that it is too complicated (she has a short fuse!).
Suse! Why do I even bother being on BellyBelly when you say exactly the same thing that I'm thinking. :P
Amy, the pocket's just for convenience, chuck your keys/wallet/spit cloth/whatever in there and then you might not need a bag! Handy if you're just going to a walk or something and don't really need the nappy bag.
My advice would be for your friend to practice before bub is born, and also to check out YouTube for some ring sling tutorials.![]()
Ta Nelle - you just said what I was thinking! That's why you're on BB![]()
Awww shucks guys.![]()
