    Which ergo?

Hi, I'm keen on getting an ergo but not sure which one. I currently have a baby Bjorn but am finding it really hard on my shoulders, and ds3 who is 4 months old likes to sleep on me! With 3 children I'm in and out of the car with them a lot so want some thing comfy and easy to use. I also read there have been some fakes going around, any advice on making sure you get an authentic one? We are going to the baby and toddler show on the weekend and thought we might get one there nd do you like them?! Thanks!

the baby show would be good as they usually have some discounts happening too! i love the ergo for the fact that you can carry a baby/child for really long periods of time and they feel super secure in it.

I prefer the Manduca to the Ergo, but thats personal preference.

Never risk Ebay as thats where most of the fakes come from, even if the photos are the proper Ergo ones, what you get in the mail may well not be.

Babes in Arms are the Official AU distributor for Ergo and its them that will be at the Expo, so you are guaranteed real from them. They will be able to take you through the different versions.

I loved Ergo from 4 months on with DS1 carried him regularly in it even when older and DS2 was in pram. I love fact can carry on front or back and its comfy. I agree getting it at the expo as you will get genuine then from babes in arms.

I found the ergo really comfy when DD was little and I wore her on the front. It did not fit me comfortably on the back carry, however. I also tried an ergo sport, which was much softer material than the original and had longer straps.
avoid ebay and any website with ergobaby in the name
I tried an olive&applesauce one, which was a bit more comfy on the back, but still not too comfy. I've never tried a manduca, but have heard great things about them. There are certainly a lot of brands to choose from!

I bought an ergo sport when Miss M was around 7mths old. She is now 2y8m and I still use it for her. I find her very comfy on my back now, but when she was little felt that she was going to slide out and was more comfortable using it on my front then.

Try them out at the show with baby on. Those guys are Soo Soo helpful. I learnt the side carry whilst I was there. I have 2 ergos, one sport and one original. The sport is lighter and we use it more in summer and the other one just abt every other time. Also if u want some
Of the accessories the show is the good spot to get it from coz theyll have specials. Ive bought directly from ther website and they are really fast in delivery. No complaints from me.

Im looking at getting one too, to alternate with my hug-a-bub, but no-where near a shop so i'll have to pick and hope. Sure they're all great though.

One disadvantage of the ergo is that you can't back carry till your baby is 5-6 months, or older depending on their size.
And you generally need the newborn insert for very littlies (others come with built in newborn harnesses).

If you're going to the expo, then check them out for sure.

Another great way to try different things is to hook up with babywearers in your area via facebook and go along to a meetup to try different things.

Thank you for all the information, think I'll try a few on at the show and see which one suits best. Also dh will use it too so have to make sure its adjustable and comfortable for him too. Excited about shopping at the show! Hopefully there'll be some good deals, looks like there is a lot to see!
