I've had both, currently have the Ergo sport.

They are basically the same, so you can't really go wrong. Here are some things to think about...

    * Ergo sport only comes in black (which didn't bother me, I love black!) Standard ones come in all pretty colours
    * Ergo sport has longer straps and waist band so can fit bigger people. My DH couldn't fit into the standard Ergo, but can fit in the Sport, with the waist extender as well.
    * Ergo sport has thinner material so cooler in hot weather, I found the standard Ergo to be much too warm in the Queensland weather, I would just sweat my bum off.
    * Ergo sport has clips to secure head flap bit - which can be a PITA to attach. Normal ergo's have snaps so they just snap in.
    * I find the Ergo Sport to be harder to put on by myself because the material is thinner, which can sometimes wrap around and be hard to get into position. The standard one is much bulkier fabric but stays in position and is really easy to get on by yourself.

Thats all I can think of.

I just have a standard Ergo, but I LOVE it! I'm sure whichever one you choose you will be very happy with it.

DD is just big enough for the Ergo now and I am over the moon that I can finally use it with her. I went for a walk with her in it yesterday and didn't even feel her weight on me.

Thanks so much Arimeh & Trish! That is all really useful info. I think I'll get an Ergo standard. DH has himself a fany-pants hiking carrier that he uses when he takes DD out & about so I'll be the only one using the Ergo and ease of use is paramount!

Do you know where Sarah_H got her's from? I looked but the postage was going to be $US45 so there went that idea. I'd love it if Sarah could let me know where she got hers, as I've seen those Galaxy Greys and they are gorgeous!

I'll also have a look on eBay.
