    Question Ergo - front position...

Can someone tell me if the Ergo allows the baby to face outwards in the front position? Have googled it but can't find an answer, all pics show baby facing in and I'm not sure if my little man would like that all the time, he's a sticky beak

The only soft structured carrier that I am aware of that you can outward face front carry is the catbirdbaby pikkolo Willow. If you googl them the site will come up. HTH

    Bugger, thanks guys.

Mel - I'm trying to decide between the Ergo and the Pikkolo, that's why I asked!

I guess I'll try and find a stockist for the Pikkolo, compare the prices etc and go from there.

Front facing - from my extensive collection they can face forward in the BB, peanut shell and HAB. Not the ergo though but that is ok - they can be carried on the back or hip. You can try all of mine if you like

Ooooh Mel, that's a big help! I did have a quick peek on your site but didn't think you carried them. Could you let me know when you get them in? I won't be buying one for a few weeks anyway so that would be perfect.

Michelle - I have the BB and loved it with DD but she was a light weight and this is sumo boy we're talking about! With my dodgy shoulder, he is just too heavy to have hanging off me all day. A few hours at playgroup just about kills me and I'm crippled for days afterwards

I don't know how much of a problem him not being about to face out would be but I'd prefer to have that option. He loves it in the BB.

I have a 100knots ring sling that I'm sure would be fantastic if I could work out how to use the darn thing! I haven't used it since he was a newborn.

Yep - the little man is getting too heavy for the BB too (and he is only 8kg). I find the peanut sling fine for short trips and distances - great for a hip carry and front facing me when he is tired and needing a sleep. Ergo is great for longer distances and he lurves the back carry - thinks it's a horsy ride with the initial jiggling The HAB is surprisingly good for forward facing carry as well as the facing in one. I haven't tried the pikkolo so I can't say how they are - DH would shoot me if I bought another one

Yeah, the BB is still OK for quick preschool drop offs etc but I want something I can wear for longer trips, shopping etc.
