Another one who looooves the Ergo. and I would chose it over a Baby Bjorn any day. If only for the fact that bub sits in the Ergo and dangles in the BB, which is bad for the developin spine. I have also heard from people that have both that the BB is way les comfortable than the Ergo. So, I guess, if you don't plan on wearing your bub much, the BB will probably do you just fine. But if you do end up wearing your bub a bit more, the investment will be well worth it. And I agree with PP, if I had my time again, I would save the money I spent on a pram and spend it on a HAB for the early days and an Ergo from 6 months on. As it happens, I bought both and the pram, but the pram is mainly used by my in-laws.
Oh, and for comfort, I found that with both, Ergo and Hug-a-Bub, they're most comfortable when they're as tight as possible. And DD feels the most secure and comfy, too. She loves to be snuggled tightly. This way, she doesn't pull too much forward and most of her weight is on my hips, rather than her hanging off my shoulders.
As for the nappy bag question: I went overseas when DD was 6 months and had to juggle nappy bag and bub. I actually ditched the nappy bag in favour of a backpack. It is actually quite easy to carry a backpack on your back while carrying bub on the front. I felt a bit like a mule, but it wasn't too bad. The security checks were a pain, though as I had to take everything off, carry DD through and then put everything back on.
