I'm all for going to the loo while bubs is in the sling. Public or notThe worse I find is when they fall asleep in the shops just as you are getting ready to get to the car
and then you have to either stay or wake them up to put them in the car.

Thanks for asking that Sammy, I was wondering the same thing myself!
I just go if Ds is asleep in the carrier! But he follows me everywhere now anyway and i have absolutely no privacy what so ever so it doesnt bother me anymore![]()
Yeah, I'm a go-er as well. Just got to be careful if he's in a wrap or MT that I hold any dangly straps - could get a bit scary otherwise.![]()

I just go to the loo. Quite often with DS awake in the carrier now - well, if I NEED to go I don't have the time to jump him out the carrier at home (it's a big old wrap one) and I don't want him running off in a public loo.
I've never given it a second thought! Well, only in the early days when unzipping jeans with legs in the way, but I'd rather DS sleep or be happy than me wet myself.
I agree with, well everyone lol, it's just easier to go with 'em in there!
I too hope that that woman was kidding about hanging the sling with bub insitu (sp) on the door, I mean, not only could the hook not be strong enough but what if there was a bag snatcher??!!! How many times have you heard of someone having their bag nicked while they were on the loo by someone just reaching over & taking it...??
No issue for me - I always took DS in with me, asleep or awake. When he got mobile, he'd come in anyway!
My theory is that he has virtually trained himself to use the toilet because we've shown him how to do it. He never had a fear of the sounds of the toilet or the idea of the toilet flushing because he just got used to it whilst in the sling
Sling worn babies pick up on social norms and conventions far quicker than pram babies because they are involved in the interactions at adult level. As well as all the other well-documented advantages of baby wearing![]()
Oooh the amount of times I've had to stay for aaaaaaaages because of that and nothing to do but wander aimlessly...lol.
As for going to the toilet with bubs in a sling well actually hugabub, yep done that. I found it quite similar as trying to go when heavily pg except bubs is on the outside..lol. I don't get to go on my own much any more anyway..haha.
