    HAB too hot - alternatives?

    Hi all!
I have been using a HAB so far. It's good in terms of support and settling DD but it's really hot. DD gets a heat rash on the cheek that's against my chest when I carry her for more than an hour or so. It's going to be even hotter when we go back to Vietnam in two weeks.
Is there another carrier that's a bit cooler for mum and bub? I got the HAB because it's supposed to be good for the mum and baby's posture and would last a long time.

Mothers direct sell one called the Breeze baby sling and also the ABA cool sling. Both look great and are reasonably priced, the cool sling is actually on sale for $30.

ETA snap Squidipa lol, missed your reply while typing one handed.

Hi, this is the sling I used for my babies during Queensland summers:

Thanks ladies. I checked out your recommendations. I am not sure about a sling. I think it would leave me with a sore neck and shoulder on one side.
Has anyone every compared the hotness of a HAB and a Baby Bjorn Sport? I haven't been able to find a store that sells them and I am heading back to Vietnam on Wednesday. I have time to order one online but I don't want to end up with two hot baby carrying contraptions.

Check out the ABA Cool Sling. I'm thinking about getting it, looks great! Very similar to a HAB but is made of light weight mesh so it's a lot cooler. It's currently on sale on the Mothers Direct website (get to it via the ABA website) for just $29.95

    I hope that helps

I don't recommend the Baby Bjorns. Many mums find them uncomfortable, and the baby is in a position that is not ideal.

Oh I'm such an airhead. I meant Ergo Sport. MantaRay, what's your recommendation on that?

Well I just couldn't wait. I went over to a store that stocked the Ergo. I tried it on and it seemed much cooler than the HAB. Poppy went to sleep straight away, which was another big selling point.
The baby can't face out in the Ergo Sport, so we'll still get some use out of the HAB. Plus it's probably better for my back to have the two, which seem to distribute the weight differently across my back.
Another bonus of the Ergo is that Poppy seems happy in it when I sit down. In the HAB she'd start crying if I sat down. She must get squashed somehow.
So, one hour after buying the Ergo I'm thrilled!
