OK, can somebody please help me make a decision!!! I have an ergo, which I love, is soo comfy, DS did love it too...but...he hates the fact he can't face out. He arches his back and kicks and screams. So should I sell and buy a pikkolo or mei tai or something!! Or should i just not bother as he is getting older and heavier???? I mostly use it when we are just running into shops quickly, but he has been so naughty I brought one of those trolley seat covers so he can sit in the seat. Just love a carrier though when we are going somewhere not pram friendly so I can have my hands free etc. Oh...what to do.........
Are you wearing him on the back?
DS was happy to sit in it, poke his head out and have a look when he was ready and loved that he could 'turn the world off' at will in the front position. When he was ready to see more, I'd put him on my back and he was happy as larry that way. Easier on my back, too. I haven't used it for a while because DS now likes to walk a lot more, but when I was using it last we were overseas and there were times he would arch his back for it...so we let him walk till he was ready to hop back in So he can say he's walked the streets of London all by himself!
I won't be selling our Ergo, I know I'll be using it for the next child and patching up the little tear in the fabric (caused by a struggle!).
On the website, they give you a really sound rationale for not doing so, which I touched on in my post. You can do it, it's just not designed for it - it's not a design fault, it's a design-in based on baby's development
Can you try him on your hip Shell? Izzy doesn't like it on the front all that much either unless she's totally whacked. She wriggles so much to turn around and see where we're going - nosey little thing that she is. When I carry her on my hip though she really enjoys it.
Sell ergo or not??????
