Does your DS prefer it if his arms are out? Many bubs get cranky in a front carry, having arms out allows them to interact with you/the world a bit more, and turn their heads a bit more to get a better view.
Outward facing front carries are not ideal with any carrier (even with those that are designed for it), especially with older/heavier bubs. Not only are there postural (and social) disadvantages for the baby, but because their centre of gravity is different it causes much more strain on the person carrying.
A hip or back carry is preferable, back carries with toddlers are where the Ergo excels.
