They're all stretchies. Pretty much all the same, and your baby will be too heavy for them by about 6 months. Some go longer, but it can make your wrap sag.
I'd just pick the cheapest, or buy second hand, or make your own (easy peasy)
I want to get a wrap for myself and dd, problem is I am the only one in my "circle" that is attempting it. A cousin of mine said she loved having one, but can't remember what it was...
So from my research I have found
Moby
Sleepy
Victoriaslinglady
Hugsbub
Hit me with your preferences and why!
Oh and I should add I want it so I can do things around the house but let her sleep and feel cuddled

Is there another type youd recommend audax? I'm new this![]()
I had a sleepy wrap, they're cheap and we loved it BUT it's hot, so I guess it depends on the weather. I also had a Hug a bub, but I rarely used it. Sleepy was the one I reached for until I got my first woven.. Are you on FB? You can join the baby wearing buy sell swap page.. Beware though, it's addictive and there are lots of enablers![]()
there is the close carrier but like Audax mentioned you might only get another 4ish months tops from them (the stretchy wrap ones).
Ergos are the workhorse and bubs can also be put on your back, hip and front. and it has a wee little cover that you can clip up whne they fall asleep while you are out and about to protect from sunshine etc.
I also use a ringsling, but they do require a bit more attention as bubs can wriggle around in them quite a bit (but they are SUPER handy to have rolled up in the bottom of the pram or in your handbag for those "must-be-picked-up-RIGHT-NOW" moments![]()
My DD liked the HAB until she was about 10 weeks. I think they're great for the newborn stage and really convenient when out & about - I used to chuck ours in the nappy bag.
Now it's all Ergo, all the time. I found it more comfy than a stretchy wrap for long periods, especially walking. Nap is almost guaranteed.
There are loads of options on the market though. I suggest you try before you buy, see what you both like best. Otherwise try eBay or swap/trade groups.
Woven!
I don't even use a woven ATM. But if a wrap is what you want, you'll get good use out of a woven. Look for Didymos, Ellevill, Girasol... They're all good newbie wraps.
More structured carriers like Boba, Beco, Ergo and Manduca are really easy to use and will last for ages.
A mei tai is a really good option too.
If you like the idea of wrapping, then a woven wrap might be a better way to go as they'll last much longer. Id suggest a 100% cotton wrap as a starter.
Or you can go ring sling, mei tai or soft-structured carrier, as mentioned above.
There is an Adelaide Babywearers group on facebook, if you have a look. Those lovely ladies will sort you out![]()
