had pouch and ergo with insert and found we needed to get a meitai wrap too, it was such a great purchase as the other ones just didnt work right for us till bub got bigger. I found it easier to put on the meitai than the pouch!
there are mei tais made from lightweight material and have clips (like the ergo) rather than tieing.

Feeb - Did you watch that BBC show Bringing up Baby, it is the one from that... Cotton wrap style, but with a buckle... Very cool. I am so close to getting one... Just wanted to get some last opinions on the subject before I finalise my decision...

I love the thought of a mei tie, but as I have the ergo I am not sure if I really can justify one..

And I have tried a pouch, but it wasn't the best for long periods for my back...

Yeah, I have Kitt3n on hand to try the close out, but with a belly growing, and a toddler that doesnt breastfeed, I am not sure that trying it is going to do anything to help me out. I have seen her use the close and it does look sensational...

My cousin came over with her newborn the other day, used mine, and bought one off me on the spot!!! She already had a couple of other types, but fell in love first use!!!

Oh, and a little OT, But i found out during a fire alarm at 1.30 am on holidays, I can put Harmony in the sling and carry a 3 yr old down 24 flights of stairs in just minutes!!!!

I dont know how I could of carried both without such a supportive great sling...... luckily a false alarm, but SO scary......

i have the ellaroo ring sling. it has been the best investment. used it from day dot, pretty much all day everyday for the last 2 years and it has NO signs of wear or tear. i like that it can be folded up and shoved into handbags, can be used as an emergency nappy mat and also as a blankie for when you are on a plane and the air-con goes bonkers...

love it!

ruff hun - borrow one of mine for a little while when bub arrives, and if you like it (i know you will ) then grab your own. I really dont mind lending it to you, i just dont want to sell them as i hope to have more bubbas! (and they are still in perfect condition to re sell even after 6 months of constant use)

but.....

some of the stores have the colous that i have realy quite cheaply at the moment as they have discontinued those colours (man i must have bad taste hey? the two I HAVE get culled!) so it might be worth biting the bullet

Would you be able to sell a close carrier second hand after 6 months use, as this is my last bub?

I'll say no they aren't easy to sell. I have been trying to sell mine for months without any luck. I've decided it just lend it out when people want to try it.

There is no buckle hun, it is a slip on with rings, and the top layer you tie on.

My sister LOVED it for her NB Harmony, she said it was so comfy and Harm would sleep in it immediately. However, I didn't have any luck with it but Ash was a big baby when I got it, around 8kg. It wasn't supportive enough.

If your looking for something for JUST the first few months then yes it would be good Otherwise get something like a pouch or Mei Tai. I used a Mei Tai and Ergo and Wrap (didy and storch) with Ash, loved them all! Mei Tai was my favourite for a long time, now Ashton is heavy (11kg) I love the Ergo for back carry. I used them all from birth though.

Kitt3n, I am tempted with the reduced price to get a natural coloured one now, but with the BB discount at a few shops, I might try and get some money from people (family) as gifts and get one with that...

And I will get my mum to make me up a ring sling, with some fabric I have, so that will cover that base too...
