If you tie it in a single slip knot (at corsage position), and make sure that the shoulder is well spread to avoid pressure points, that might help.
1m is short for a rebozo, normally they are about two metres. Do you tie it on the diagonal? It would be too short for a ring sling conversion or no sew ring sling unfortunately.
The link sweetpea was referring to is baby carriers downunder BTW.There is a google group which you can join and post questions to. I've never used a rebozo of that length so I don't have any specific advice other than trying a slip knot. I wear a two metre wrap piece that way and it is very comfy.
Also have a look at thebabywearer, in the wrapper's paradise section of the forum there are wrap tying tutes, including a bunch of rebozo ties.
