    Night time?

Just wondering if any of the babywearing mums out there can tell me how their babies are at night, if they are used to being worn/carried regularly during the day? I'm not sure how much this little one will end up in the carrier (I have a moby, similar to HAB) but I don't want to end up with troubles at night! Do you find that your baby is rocked to sleep in the carrier during the day, and then can't sleep at night, because there is no movement? Or should I just make sure that he/she is not in there that much, and lay him/her down when they fall asleep? Do you wear your baby all day, or just when you go out somewhere, or if they are particularly fussy?

I had K in the HAB a lot during the day, almost every day when he was younger in fact. He slept through the night from 10w (apart from a few rough patches here & there) so it didn't cause any probs for him. DS2 however has a lot of issues with sleeping at night (with sleeping any time actually) so he's just about permanently in my arms or the HAB because of that, but his sleep issues weren't caused by being carried all the time. Hope that's reassured you a bit.

I have a HAB that I used alot when Toby was little. I'm not really one for wearing a baby for the sake of it, but I did wear him alot when he was really young because he just liked to be close I remember many days of having him the HAB while I did other things during the day.

Although it wasn't a day in, day out thing I didn't have any issues with him sleeping at night or anything because of it. I guess alot would depend on the baby's personality and how much you end up having them in the sling kwim? Not much help am I LOL.

Somehow I totally missed your replies - thanks ladies! It is good to hear that you haven't noticed any major issues with sleep anyways. From what I read, it sounds like baby-wearing is supposed to help night sleeping, but it seems to me that if they are used to sleeping while being carried, they would frequently wake when laid in bed. But I guess that is not necessarily the case.

We wore DD more of less all the time until she was 6 months, and she was put down to bed, in her cot (which was butted up against my bed), at 8pm every night. We had sleep issues like everyone does (her suicide hour was between 6pm and 8-9pm, and she would cry alot between those times whatever we did), but i don't think the sling was a problem. In fact the more she was carried in the day, the better she slept, and my boobs were too big for her to have constant access, so it wasn't that...
