Peanut Shell or Ergo?

Which one is better...ive had a look at both but cant decide!!!

I used to have a HAB but turfed that quick smart cos im hopeless and couldnt do it up...

So for new bub i wanted something easy (well easier) to use and these are the 2 ive been looking at.

kim i love our Ergo! Definately my pick! It super comfy and quite easy to use! Myles hated being in a silng so we didnt use it! Cxnat wiat to try the ergo with a newborn! good luck x

Kim, they're both two entirely different kettles of fish. Neither is better, they are both good for different things. Some pros/cons of both:

Ergo: two shouldered SSC (soft structured carrier), good for heavier babies/toddlers and long carries, needs infant insert for newborn, reasonably quick to put on (compared to a wrap for example), quite bulky though, they don't fold up into a handbag or nappy bag. Not particularly attractive either, utilitarian rather than aesthetically pleasing. Best for back carries. Can't be used for reclining (cradle) positions. Good accessories - toy ring, pocket, optional front pouch and backpack. Weight is supported on the hips rather than the waist (like in a mei-tai). Although most people love them, some people (myself included) find that the shoulder padding on the Ergo is quite bulky, and that the angle of the shoulders does not suit narrow shouldered people. I personally find other SSCs to be more comfortable than the Ergo, but for most people, the Ergo is a really good, comfortable and supportive carrier.

Peanut shell: I have not used a pouch, so can only give general pros and cons. Convenient, quick and easy to put on and to travel with (folds up small), must be fitted to the wearer and not adjustable. Pretty though. One shouldered carriers are not as supportive for long carries, heavier / older babies and may not be good for people with back or shoulder issues as they carry the weight unevenly. However, great for shopping and quick up and down trips.

Another pro with the peanut shell is you can breastfeed in it!

I'm looking at the Peanut Shell Kimbaz.... it looks so easy to use..... and I want to be able to use it for breastfeeding.

I love PS, with PS, there are no buckles, metal rings or adjustments to be made and the sling can be worn five different ways to carry a baby or a toddler up to 16kg.
PS is so compact, you can easily toss it into a diaper bag when you're on the go and it can also be used as a stroller cover or a baby blanket. The sling features sleek leg padding to increase your baby's comfort without added bulk or warmth, a perfectly placed hook for attaching toys and a small pocket for carrying essentials such as keys, a cell phone or a pacifier.

However, it didn't come with directions so you have to go to the company's website to learn how to use it. You may feel so confusing i.e difficult to setup, difficult to get inout, difficult to remove child for the first timer but as long as you keep practising you will get use to it

Hmm, if you're still looking for a carrier you could head to the expo in Melbourne this weekend? I bet heaps of stands will have carriers, and I know for sure Bubblebubs will be there with ERGO (and last time they had a pretty good deal on them too, 20% off or something from my placenta-brain memory!). Good chance to try before you buy IYKWIM

I bought the peanut shell, felt really comfy on and the lady at the local baby shop swears buy them! She reckons she walked for hrs around Bali with her 4 month old in it and she even showed me how her 12 month old goes in it...probably a little better for baby wearing if that is what you are into!
