    What do you reccommend?

    Hello ladies.

I am looking for your opinions on which sling/baby carrier is the best and why you chose to use it? (i'm not interested in baby bjorn or similar)

I already have 2 slings from when ds was born, and I do still use one of them to carry him around. One is a Jazsling and the other one is just like a pouch type one (i don't like this one as it does cover the baby's whole face and you have to constantly move it over babys face to make sure they can breath)

Considering my baby will be born mid oct and therefore will be carried around during the heat of summer, what would you reccommend?

I'm looking for something that is comfy for bub, very secure (hands free), breathable and very easy to get bub in and out of (that was one of the cons with my current slings).

    thanks for your help.

    I hate my babasling.

Ergo is great once they can sit up didn't like with a newborn.

I LOVE my close carrier!!! takes a bit to get baby in and out of or maybe I am just unco LOL but still I use it to carry DS2 out to car in while also carrying DS1 on my hip. As have 2 steps to go down to on street parking.

    Hope that helps.

Yup another vote here for my close carrier for my youngest. I also put her in the ergo but I don't quite like it as much for her at her age, but I love my ergo for my older two - absolutely love it for toddlers.

We used a basic over the shoulder sling (look up Slingalong on the net) for for the first 3mths then tried a Hug A bub but didnt' like it as it was too hot to wear too much material for me and DD never liked it!! At 8mths we bought an Ergo Carrier!!!! BEST thing we ever did... wish we'd bought it sooner........

Ergo's rock! love it. I think they are best for bubs from 4mths though. When they are younger than that you really need a little sling over the shoulder.

    Thanks ladies.

I am thinking I will look at an ergo when bub gets bigger.

I had a look yesterday and I found that the close carrier looks good and I found a similar one on ebay for half the price and its called a Sleepy wrap baby carrier. Anyone used one of these?

I was just about to suggest the sleepy wrap. I LOVE mine! It's a little fiddly though, just one long piece of fabric which takes a few goes to master (whereas the close has clips). But once you've got it down pat it's great. I put DS in it from day one pretty much, it's nice and snuggly for newborns and younger babies. He'd go to sleep within about 10 mins. It's exactly the same as a hug a bub but about $80 cheaper. When I went out I'd just tie it on before I got in the car and popped bub in when I got there. Definitely recommend it!
