11 mnth old clingy baby

Hi, Ds is almost 11mnths., anyhow, he is so clingy, wants me all the time, and the minute he cant see me he is in tears & wnts to be picked up, cannot even play by himslef for a few minutes before he wants me. i know that this is sooo normal,but do they grow out of it & if so what age.. If DH has him n his arms, and he sees me, he wants me immed, and pushes of DH to get to me..

My DS went thru this at about the same age, he's now 14mths and not longer clingy. I think he grew out of it at about 12 to 12 and half mths. But he still prefers to be held by me then DH, but that to will change over time.

My DS is 11 months and doing exactly the same thing. I find it really draining at times and wish that he would like going to other people for a cuddle. I too am hoping it is a short passing phase.

Its really common for babies to go through separation anxiety after about 8 months. I remember Aidyn at this age would burst into tears any time that someone else tried to hold him, apart from me or DP!

my DS was the same! i had to do everything with him attached to my hip. he is now 14mths old and plays very well on his own for lengths of time. i think he started being a bit more independent around the time he started walking - so about 12mths. he still has an issue if i leave the room - he crys until i get back (this is when we are at home alone during the day - if someone else is in the room at the time, he is fine).

also, now he is all about daddy - in fact, i think this started happening when i stopped breastfeeding at 13mths. since then, he much prefers daddy to me! a big change for him, he used to be all about me! sob sob

i think it is a phase that your baby will get through soon. is your DS walking?

Ash is quite clingy at the moment, she always goes thru stages of it. If I'm not around she is okay but if I am she just wants cuddles and lots of them, my arm is getting tired.
Its not too bad just at times when I just need to do something like make her meal and she is clining onto my leg!
