    ?? 12 Month Old Tantrums??

    Is it possible???

The last few days DD (12 months) is throwing screaming fits when she is told 'no' or we take something away from her that she shouldn't have... if she is growled at a few times for the same thing she then screams and tries to cuddle me...

I am guessing the 'terrible two's' are only going to be worse... God Help Me!!!

Anyone else having this trouble already?

I am having the same problem with my 1 year old DD aswell. She does a high pitched squeal at me when she doesn't get what she wants. Cracks the P**'s at me when she is being naughty and gets in trouble. I'm hopeing it doesn't get any worse. Unfortunately I have no advice but will be watching carefully to see what other people say.
I hope it gets better for you.

    Hey Ellie

Thanks, knowing your not alone helps... I guess we'll just have to be firm, and not give in!

    Good Luck!

    Hi Mel09

both mine started tantrumming around 10 months so know what you're on with! Both have been 'throwers' where they htrow themselves onto the floor (DS#1 directly onto head front and back!!!!! - fortunately that only lasted a few weeks as he realsied that it hurts!) even after 2 i'm still non the wiser what to do - i tend to leave him there and walk away so he doesn't get any attention from it but Will is still doing it at 16 months so not really working! Oscar stoppped throwing huge wobblies around 2 when he learnt to speak better so was less frustrated and has been so much better during his 'terrible' twos so there is hope!

    good luck!

My DD is 18 months and i was told by my CHN to either distract or ignore. I have found for me i tell her "mummy gets sad when you behave like that so i'm not going to stand and watch you when you've finished i'll be ..............(in my room, kitchen etc) she likes to be with me so she soon picks herself up and comes to find me i leave her be for a min or 2 if she is still crying but if not or as soon as she stops i will explain why she was told No or whatever the reason for the tantrum was. We had a couple of really bad ones with hiting and lashing out and this seems to be working so far..HTH
