So, the other day i was opening a packet of sunflower seeds for me to have a snack and the packet ripped open (exploded) and seeds flew everwhere!!! before i could do anything DD is shoveling then in to her mouth!! My instant reaction was to stop her eating them!! but she was really enjoying them. although im sure she was just swallowing them without chewing and probably only doing it cause they were all over the floor and she thought it was funny to watch mummy run around yelling NO
I didnt let her eat anymore but am wondering...Would you think they are something a 15 month old could/should eat?? we did BLS so she is used to eating 'stuff' ?
I got a pack of sultanas with seeds - sunflower seeds, pepitas etc the other day and DD has been gobbling them LOL. I had the same thought at first but then I thought it was just nuts they were supposed to stay away from because of the choking hazard (assuming they didn't have a nut allergy). so I think it's all good, except they kind of end up spread from one end of the house to the other!
thats what i thought Pixie, about nuts, and just automatically put seeds and nuts in the same family. But maybe they are ok. she did seem to love them!!
