18 month injection

Hi,

Just wanting to know if anyone has had any issues with the 18 month chicken pox injection. I am a bit nervous now with them as 3 weeks after dds 12 month injections, she developed a yeast allergy. Its the only thing I can put it down to, coz nothing else changed and she was able to eat yeast prior to this. nothings proven though....just my observation. So the paranoia is starting to set in!!!

Hiya, DD had hers last Friday and she's fine. It was a bit red for a few hours and now it just looks like an old bruise but really small. The nurse said they may get little chicken pox spots around the area but DD didn't.

It's possible that the yeast infection that your DD got was not as a result of the injection as such, but that her immune system was compromised by the vacc and it allowed a yeast infection to form. You don't have to get her the vacc if you don't want to - simply explain your concerns and get a conscientious objection form, or you can pre-empt any yeast infection by making sure she eats lots of pro-biotic rich food (like vaalia or jalna yoghurt or even giving her a probiotic) before and after the vacc to make sure that she is has optimum gut health.

I believe that the MMR (12months) is more likely to cause complications than the varicella (CP - 18months). As with any vaccination, the choice is yours as to what to do.

Because I am so anti vaccine at the moment (because I believe DD2's allergies were from vaccine) I will be holding off on chicken pox. DD1 didnt' have it until she was 8 years (her choice) and I think I'll wait with the next bub. I just they have enough vaccine's and their systems are so immature. You could put it off even for a year.
Also we take probiotic poweder. Lactobac. You could give this before and after if that is a concern.

Trillian- its a yeast allergy- not infection. If it were only an infection, I wouldnt worry too much, but she cant eat yeast as it makes the area around her mouth go red and oozes.

Ahh such a dilema....i dont really know what to do!!!
