DD is freaking me out a bit lately..she seems so clever, and I'm not sure that half the stuff she knows is 'normal' for a toddler her age. Not that I'm complaining, hey I don't mind if I've created a genius But, guess I'm just interested to hear/see what the normal scope of their learning should be at her age..
She knows so many words I couldn't count them all and now puts two words together (like 'wet dog' - as our dog came racing up to us this morning after having a swim in the river! Or 'bye dad'), sometimes even 3 or 4 although they aren't clearly legible ('where is Hayley' when she is playing peek a boo or 'there it is' when she finds something she was looking for, or just finds anything of interest!)
She can say and recognise/point out the letters A, C, S, O, and T (quite funny when we walk past Coles or Woolworths and she sees the sign and starts going 'o o o o..')
She can count with me to ten, and since I've started using counting to 3 sometimes when she won't do something I've asked she'll say 1, 2, 3 on her own (usually not in order though)
She knows a few different shapes- square, triangle, circle, heart, star and cross, and is super efficient playing with her shape sorter. Lol!
There's probably more stuff, but those are the main things that make me go woah..are you supposed to know that?! Very proud of my clever little cookie though!
I've noticed the last couple of days Isaac seems to understand a lot more- I can ask him to get something for me or do something and he understands and does it.... Usually. He's also copying a lot more. Nowhere near Hayley's skillz though.
A friend of mines little man is 3 weeks younger than Isaac is putting short sentences together. So that part at least is fairly normal.
