You could try some QV wash on it, or bath her in alpha keri oil.
Hi Ladies,
My 2 yo has been itching the back of her head for weeks now and I am not sure what products I can use to sooth the itch.
She does not have nits. As an ex hairdresser I know what to recommend for adults but for kids I am not sure.
The itchy area is mainly the nape area and i can see some red flakey skin.
Does anyone know if there is a shampoo or remedy out there?
You could try some QV wash on it, or bath her in alpha keri oil.
I use Dermaveen shampoo and conditioner on my 14 month old. I think it is very good, you get it from the chemist.
I also bathe her in qv oil, which I must say I think is the best baby wash.
If the above don't work, then I suggest you take her to the doctors. My mum has a skin condition (it is similar to eczema and psoriasis) which only occurs in her hair and the nape of her neck. It is not serious, just annoying but needs a specific ointment. It only occurs occasionally (mainly when she is stressed or overworked).
Just a suggestion- is it worth staying off products/shampoos etc for a bit to see if it calms/heals? Try olive or sweet almond oil perhaps on the itchy area?
