Funnily enough I was just dealing with exactly the same thing. DD (also 22 months) got angry at her crayons and started to throw them and hit the table. I gave her a warning and said, If you throw them again I will pack them away. She was OK for a couple of minutes and then did it again. So I packed away her crayons and we went and did something else. She cried for a couple of seconds then was fine.

I think being tired has a lot to do with it. (Haven't read your other post yet) They get a lot more easily frustrated. DD is only behaving like this at the moment cause she has a cold. So hopefully once the sleeping is sorted out, things will get a lot better.
