    3 vs 4 wheels

Sorry if this in the wrong place.

I currently am using a basic 4 wheel stroller for dd (15mths) it was left over from ds2.
Said stroller is worn out and Im ready for a new one.
after looking online I have seen a 3 wheeler I like the look of. I havent seen one in shops to try
Please can you share your experiences with me of both- it will also need to be able to fly- check in at gate.
The umbrella style strollers seem most popular

I didn't like the 3 wheelers & have only ever used one because it was given to me. They tip to easily for me. Especially if you have a toddler climbing on the front of it.

And, from what I read a few years ago, both the babies that rolled into the river (I think in Melbourne, off a walking path??) were in 3 wheel prams. Having only the one wheel at the front made it easier for them to turn & roll away or something. I don't think I've ever been anywhere that something like that could happen, but that was when I decided I really didn't like them. That was also when they brought in tethers on all prams & strollers.

They are easier to push around because of the big wheels, but the one I had was still huge when folded up. SIL's is pretty big when folded too. I just got a new lay back umbrella stroller from target that i really like. It comes with a bar across the front, but it needs to be removed to fold. Lays all the way back, easy to steer & nice high handles. Folds up small

I used to have a 3wheeled Steelcraft, before they brought out the Striders. I loved it. I ran with it and never had a trouble with it. I didn't have a climber in DD1 though. Also it was heavy. I've never seen a light 3 wheeler.

I currently have a Valco Zee. I love love love it. It weighs only 8kgs so is essentially a stroller but has all the attributes of a pram (minus suspension). Valco also make the Ion that really has 4 wheels but the two at the front are together making it like a 3 wheeler. It steers so so so easily and is also very light.

ETA we fly a fair bit too and I know I'd far rather my current pram at the airport than a big clunky 3 wheeler.
