DD is 3 months old. She loves her dummy, gets real soothing from it. But she only really likes one kind of dummy (the first one we gave her).

The one she likes is a "super soft" dummy with a cherry shaped latex teat on it. I've been trying to get her to use silicone dummies instead, since I read they are safer, and I've tried orthodontic dummies too. She just doesn't like them - spits them out after a few sucks.

It's not like it's the only one she's had - we've tried about 4 different shapes and the cupboard is full of unused dummies. She clearly prefers those ones. I'm not sure whether to worry or whether to just go out and buy more of these ones online.

How bad is it if we stick with the latex, not-orthodontic ones?

Has anyone managed to teach their baby to like a different kind of dummy to the one they had at first?
