I hear you on the being so tired and needing more sleep but that is just not what my DD is ready to do. At about the 8 month mark my DD went back to the newborn pattern and was waking every 2-3 hours. So not the direction i wanted to go. As she was fed to sleep i just had to go with it as otherwise it involved a lot of crying. Just recently i have had enough and have been in the process of making some changes, trying to change the feed to sleep pattern and how she is actaully put to bed. I'm trying to help her fall alseep in her own bed (very minimal crying involved). We're getting there and i must say her quality of sleep which has never been good does seem to be improving.

From my experience i would say there is nothing unusual about your little ones patterns at the moment. It's more so your choice when you feel the need to make some changes to suit your family.
