My DD has gone through a couple of stages doing this. It's mainly when she has a cold or is teething. She'll wake up a couple times a night screaming, so I get her out of bed for around 5 mins and give her a cuddle then I put her back in bed and she's fine till she wakes a couple hours later. I hope you figure it out soon.
